Leaving a Living Legacy
Everyone needs a connection to the past and a light for the future. For many grandchildren, their grandparents play a unique and influential role in their lives, yet the grandparent relationship and capacity to leave a lasting legacy can be unrecognised or under-resourced in both society and the church.
When Ian Barnett, the Snr Minister of Figtree Anglican and his wife Rhonda became grandparents, Ian became more and more challenged about 'the legacy' he is leaving.
This is the God given inspiration behind his passion and desire to hold an annual conference for grandparents, which came to fruition with the 1st one held in 2017. Central to this legacy, is also developing a heart to ensure our grandchildren discover for themselves what it means to have a strong faith in Christ.
