Gift Day 2020

Make Your Life Count

In a world of consumerism, the church is called to be a community of generosity and selflessness. We must be generous to a fault - people who seek to be faithful, adventurous, and compassionate.

Figtree Anglican Church has continually trusted in God for His provision as ministry needs have been brought before His people. Our focus has always been to ensure that not only is God building his Kingdom, but that he is also building it at here at Figtree so that we have a spiritual home for future generations to be able to hear the good news of Jesus.

May it be so once again as you prayerfully consider your support for our 2020 Gift Day projects.

Ian Barnett
Senior Minister

Our 2020 Gift Day projects are:

Expanding the Kingdom One Nation at a time.

$20,000 - Anglican Aid Project

Taylor Badirega is the Youth and Children’s Minister in the Anglican Diocese of Dogura - one of the poorest diocese in the Milne Bay province of Papua New Guinea.

It’s a hard, sacrificial life for Taylor and his family. He doesn’t receive any pay for his work, the family grows its own food and relies on receiving occasional gifts such as chickens and eggs.

Identified as a future leader of the Anglican Church in PNG, Taylor will undertake further study at CLTC evangelical college in the PNG Highlands. His wife, Gloria, will join him in studying.

This 2020 Gift Day project aims to raise $20,000 for Anglican Aid to support Taylor and Gloria through their three years of study, better equipping them as gospel teachers. Your support is nation building kingdom work in action.
(support for this project is tax-deductible).

Ensuring Future Kingdom Workers

$20,000 - The Harvest Fund 410 Interns

Figtree Anglican Church is continuing to write a rich history of training young people for ministry, through its Harvest Fund 410 Intern program. Since 2015, when the program was introduced, our church has invested in training 10 young adults in areas as diverse as youth and children’s ministry, creative arts, communications and design, and evangelism, alongside formal theological training and practical ministry instruction.

This 2020 Gift Day project has a target of raising $20,000 for the 410 Intern program, ensuring that FAC continues to invest in raising up gospel workers for the harvest. Your support is localised kingdom work in action. (NB: The current interns have not been able to raise the funds needed due to the impact of Covid).

Ignite web

Extending Kingdom Opportunities to the Next Generation.

$10,000 - Ignite Youth

Our youth and young adult community has absorbed much of the impact of COVID in 2020. It is also a community that has stepped up and served our church in many remarkable and sacrificial ways this year.

Ignite is the annual week-long camp for our youth and young adults. Held in January, it is a critical launchpad for the year. Traditionally, fundraising activities are held over the 12 months leading up to Ignite, to help subsidise the cost of camp for many who otherwise would not be able to go. COVID has prevented this from happening this year.

This 2020 Gift Day project seeks to raise $10,000, to both help subsidise the cost of camp for individuals and to also offset the additional costs of holding Ignite brought about by COVID. Ignite is a wonderful opportunity to present the life-transforming message of the gospel, and by doing so raise up a new generation of gospel carriers. Your support is next generation kingdom work in action.
