AI\, the speed of information\, the monetisation of social media feeds\, and an increasingly polarised world have all exacerbated this. \nAs young adults in Wollongong\, how do we know what’s really true? \nCome along to our Young Adults teaching night to explore this issue with a special focus on the Gospel of John. In John’s Gospel\, Jesus makes bold claims about truth\, life\, and who He is. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Preliminary Theological Course (PTC) is an excellent way to dig deeper into your biblical knowledge\, both to bless your own relationship with God\, and help everyone who is leading others in places like LifeGroups\, youth\, or kids ministry. \n‘Promise to Fulfilment’ follows on from the PTC course ‘Intro to the Bible’\, it is Biblical Theology part two. The way the course is created means that if you have not yet done part one\, you will not be at a disadvantage. Whilst ‘Intro to the Bible’ focuses on seeing the Bible’s big story\, ‘Promise to Fulfilment’ is about learning to interpret Scripture with an understanding of the larger story and how it holds together. As it says on the jar\, it is about seeing the promises of God\, and their fulfilment in Scripture. It’s just the thing for when you find yourself in the back blocks of the books of Obadiah or Nahum. This is your compass to find your way to Jesus\, and all the ‘so what’s’ for you. DESCRIPTION:What is mental health (well-being)? What is mental illness? And what is the difference? How does our Christian faith intersect with mental illness? \nIn this seminar we’ll explore some answers to these questions using the social sciences and a biblical understanding of what it is to be human. Together we’ll discuss how this knowledge and understanding can assist us in nurturing our mental health. And navigating how to live well when there are episodes of mental illness. \nIn Australia\, 1 in 5 people aged 16–85 (22%\, or 4.3 million) experienced a mental disorder in the last 12 months. Christians are not immune\, and these rates are similar in our churches. Most of us know and love someone who has a mental illness and this seminar is for you too. \nDate: Thursday\, 16 October\nTime: 7-9pm\nLocation: Figtree Anglican Church foyer \nThe seminar will be facilitated by Steve Dinning from our 10am congregation.
