These Last Hours: Women’s Teaching Series

Tue 5 May from 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

All women are invited to our annual women’s teaching series to hear teaching, stories, and other creative elements from our own wonderful FAC women! This cross-generational event is meeting over three consecutive Tuesday evenings in May at Figtree Anglican Church.

The apostle John wrote much of Jesus’ famous last words to his followers in what is now called the ‘farewell discourse’ in John chapters 14 to 16. If we consider these parting words of Jesus to be important to his followers still today, let’s have look closer at some of them together. How might we choose to live out our ‘last hours’ on earth as women of God?

Week One: Walk with Me
Tuesday, 5 May, 7:30pm
THE WAY | John 14 | with Jac Vermeer
What words does Jesus share with his followers for them to understand THE WAY of the cross and all that entails for them afterwards? What does living THE WAY mean for us today?

Week Two: Abide with Me
Tuesday, 12 May, 7:30pm
ABIDE | John 15 | with Rachel Dirks
What encouragement does Jesus give his followers to enable them to remain true in the midst of persecutions, temptations, and suffering in a broken world? What does it mean for us to ABIDE today?

Week Three: Stay with Me
Tuesday, 19 May, 7:30pm
THE HELPER | John 16 | with Sarah Kinstead
Jesus warned his followers that they would soon feel abandoned, bereft, and broken. What kind of lasting HELPER does Jesus send in his stead for his followers that will last the rest of their hours on earth, and ours?
