plan a visit

We’d love to welcome you to church this Sunday.

Church services are a gathering of a community of ordinary people who want to know more about the good news of Jesus. The Bible tells us this is one of the most valuable things we do as Christians.

We meet every Sunday of the year, with church services at two locations:

Figtree Anglican Church

  • 4-10 Gibsons Rd, Figtree, NSW
  • 8am: Traditional service
  • 10am: Family-centred service including a separate kids’ program
  • 6pm: Youth and Young Adult-focused service

Mount Kembla Soldiers and Miners Memorial Church

  • 301 Cordeaux Rd, Mount Kembla NSW
  • 9:30am: Traditional service

What to Expect on Sundays

If you’re not familiar with church, you may not know what to expect. We love to welcome visitors and newcomers, and we hope you’ll feel at home when you visit Figtree Anglican Church.

Everyone is welcome at our church services, whether you’ve never been to church before, it’s been a while, you’re exploring Christianity, or you’ve been coming for years.

Each church service varies slightly in vibe, but the things we always do are sing together, pray, read the Bible and hear it explained to understand what it tells us about God and ourselves. Services usually run for a little over an hour. If you’re just checking things out, that’s great, and we’re glad you’re here. You won’t need to do or say anything during a service if you don’t want to.

The Sunday 10am service includes a program for toddlers through to children in Year 7, called KidsChurch. All kids start the service in the main auditorium with their families, and head out to meet their KidsChurch leaders in the foyer after some songs and a Family Spot. If you’re new, let the KidsChurch leaders know and they’ll help sign your kids in. KidsChurch is a lot of fun, but if your kids would prefer to stay in church with you, or return at any point during their program, that’s ok!

  • Children aged one – preschoolers meet in the Children’s Ministry Centre
  • Children in Kindy – Year 7 meet in St Peter’s Hall (up the stairs off the foyer)
  • Children can be picked up from 11:15-11:30am after the service.
  • Parents’ rooms are also available just outside the main auditorium and allow mum/dad to watch the service through a large window that looks back into the auditorium.

Ample parking is available in our onsite carpark. Enter our driveway off Gibsons Rd and follow the signs to the rear of the building. Disability parking and an undercover drop-off area is available in the first carpark along the driveway.

There’s no need to dress in formal or special clothing. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in – what you might wear to the shops or a friend’s house.

Livestreamed Services

Our church services are livestreamed on our YouTube channel for those who can’t make it in person. Where possible, we encourage everyone to come along in person; nothing beats being together as a community.
