PreacherIan Barnett Date06/05/18 PassageEphesians 4:1-6 Service10am SynopsisAs men and women, our Christianity is God directed, Christ defined and others oriented. Christians are to extend to each other, love, service, humility, patience, gentleness and much much more. Above all else, we are called “to live a life worthy of our calling” AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |

PreacherIan Barnett Date13/05/18 PassagePsalm 139:1-18 Service10am SynopsisKelly Ballarie captures many of the thoughts from our women when she says, “May I admit something to you all? When I am at my worst, I doubt who I am. I doubt I am good. I doubt I am valuable. Some days, I know, I don't look an iota like Jesus. I look in the mirror, but his image I do not see. Instead, I see the image of a woman who is flawed, faulted and failing. I can be hard on myself.” This comment captures the thoughts of many of our women, who want their men to stand by them for better or worse. AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |

PreacherRon Irving Date20/05/18 Passage1 Corinthians 13:1-13 Service10am Synopsis1 Corinthians is widely considered the greatest love passage in the Bible. What it does is identify various and diverse qualities of this most complex attitude, emotion and Christian virtue. Without love, everything else is worthless. The words from vs 4-7 describe love's nature, in language designed to point to how poorly the Corinthians were measuring up. Love is permanent. What we know from this passage is that love remains the greatest challenge today. AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |

Sorry | Ian Barnett | 03/06/18 | 10am | Psalm 51 | play_circle_filled |

PreacherIan Barnett Date03/06/18 PassagePsalm 51 Service10am SynopsisThis message captures many of the thoughts and feelings that have been expressed, especially by men. Psalm 51 is a standout word, which speaks of confession and repentance from personal sin. What David is seeking, and I sense that many men are seeking, is to ask God to “blot out”, “wash away” and be “cleansed” (vs1-2). What David does is provide a list of wrongs that is meant to be comprehensive. His confession was far-reaching and complete. What God is seeking from all of us is transparency in our lives. Women are also asking this from their men. AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |

PreacherMyles Elton Date10/06/18 PassageJames 3:1-12 Service10am SynopsisProper speech. Do we ever get it right? Especially in our relationships. I cannot think of a finer passage that captures the pain that has been expressed from our people when it comes to the way we speak to each other. Often we might think if only I could take it back. The tongue is small yet it controls so much. Yes, we can praise God with it and curse God with it. Yes, we can say we love you and at the same time, we can say incredibly hurtful things. We can come to church, praise our great God and then on the way home criticise our wives or husbands. James says it directly, “This should not be” (v10). AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |

PreacherRon Irving Date17/06/18 Passage2 Peter 1:3-11 Service10am SynopsisCharacter is what defines you, character is what people see in you. It is what people will say about you after you pass away. Character is one of the most important things you have. When you read the things that men and women value in each other, it is character always matters in the end. Peter, as he writes, is reminding people that God has given us the power to live godly lives. While we are always a work in progress (Phil 1:6) we should always be seeking greater spiritual maturity. Homeward Bound | Ian Barnett | 24/06/18 | 10am | Psalm 127 | play_circle_filled |
keyboard_arrow_down | |
PreacherIan Barnett Date24/06/18 PassagePsalm 127 Service10am SynopsisThere is a simple truth to the fact that so much of what goes on in our relational world happens in the home. Sometimes I am left wondering, “what are the homes we are actually building?” I also wonder if, at the end of the day, men and women get excited about being “homeward bound”. Is it possible, that over time we could grow weary of the simple pleasures that our homes bring, let alone the people who occupy them? Psalm 127 is well known and highlights that life itself is pointless unless the Lord is the builder. In the psalm, the psalmist declares the anxiety of life without God. PreacherIan Barnett Date01/07/18 PassagePhilippians 2:1-11 Service10am SynopsisMany Christian men want to lead their wives spiritually; Many Christian women want to be led spiritually by their husbands, however, it seems both are not sure what this looks like. Often times, what can result is a chaotic mess of unmet expectations. AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |

I'm a Christian - So What? | Ron Irving | 13/05/18 | Fuse | Colossians 1:1-14 | play_circle_filled |
keyboard_arrow_down | |
PreacherRon Irving Date13/05/18 PassageColossians 1:1-14 ServiceFuse SynopsisThe challenge to “live a life worthy of the Lord” (v10) is a constant call on the lives of Christians. It is God’s intention that Christians live and serve in whatever situation they may find themselves in “bearing fruit” (v9) while giving thanks to God for what he has done and continues to do in our lives. Being a Christian is something that affects our lives in both word and deed. AttachmentsNo attachments Audio |
The purpose of the Depth series is to help our people grow deeper in their desire and love of God, and to help us understand what it looks like in the day to day of ordinary life to be in the presence of God. Our prayer is, as we go deeper, that our relationship with God would empower us on mission - our inner life with Jesus would empower our service for Jesus.
