‘Manna House, a place to belong providing food friendship and hope for the future,’
This has been our vision for sixteen years. Using food and an extended hand of friendship on Jesus behalf, we welcome people from the community to join us for a home cooked meal each week. We do this onsite at Figtree Anglican and via our food van at Unanderra, across the road from Unanderra Community Centre in Factory Rd.

Angaza Beyond is a partnership between Figtree Anglican and Nairobi Chapel in Kenya, to provide primary school ‘shipping container’ libraries for children from the slums. The libraries we send are a shipping container, outfitted (including books) to become the library building on-site at a school.
Books in good condition for primary children are suitable for donation - fiction & non-fiction without themes of violence, magic or materialism.

Each bag has an estimated retail value of $50-$60 leaving money in the budget for other essentials.
To shop: Thursday 5-6pm on these dates in 2019: Feb 14, 28. | Mar 14, 28. | Apr 11 (not 25). | May 9, 23. | Jun 6, 20.
Each month, small teams go into a number of local nursing homes to minister to the residents through a simple message, Bible reading and singing of familiar hymns. Communion is also served. You don’t need any formal training, just a willingness to give an hour a month to engage with and bless not only the residents but also the nursing staff.
Villa Maria: 2nd Wednesday of the month | 11:00- 11:30am
Hillside at Figtree: 4th Wednesday of the month | 1:30 to 2:30pm
Cordeaux Lodge: 4th Thursday of the month at 2:30pm
Contact Peter Clark for more info about joining a team.
NB: Some nursing homes require volunteers to have a Police Check (they pay for it)
Days for Girls is a compassionate ministry about supporting girls in developing countries to stay in school and continue with their education. Even today, there are still places around the world where girls do not have access to sanitary products … Days for Girls is about sewing sanitary hygiene kits for these girls so they can continue to go to school when menstruating.
A faithful team meet monthly on a Saturday (not Dec or Jan) from 10am-4pm at Figtree Anglican, to make ‘kits’. Even if you can’t sew or have limited sewing experience there are tasks you can do to assist.
Our Pastoral Care are a small team who pray and follow-up on pastoral needs of church members through notes, cards, phone calls and home visits, outside what is met in LifeGroups. Anyone with a heart to listen and pray can join the team, with specific Pastoral Training available through Anglicare.
Ministry of Meals
Pastoral Care also provide frozen meals as situations arise, lovingly prepared by members of Figtree Anglican. Anyone can contribute by cooking & freezing meals (labeled with content) in takeaway containers.
Contact the Church Office for info about providing meals.
